We’ve had a jam-packed second day at Horstead!
After a pretty good night’s sleep, we woke up feeling ready for a full day of activities. We made our sandwiches, ready for lunchtime – choosing our fillings carefully! We then enjoyed breakfast which included cereal, toast and yogurts – all you can eat!
After breakfast, we got going with our activities. One group conquered the Tower and Zipwire, with others testing their aim during Archery and the third group finding codes around the grounds using maps as part of Orienteering. We devoured our picnic lunch, re-energising ready for our afternoon. By the end of the day, all groups had gotten soggy after testing their rafts in Raft-Building, with some children desperate to jump in the river and brave the cold!
Dinner tonight was a lovely BBQ with ice-cream cones for dessert. Then we got wrapped up and ventured back outside for our campfire this evening; toasting marshmallows, singing songs and sharing some of our Horstead memories from the last few days. It was a lovely way to end our final evening and we know the children are really looking forward to telling you all about their trip!
